Size of an Average Penis

Everyone wants to know what the size of an average penis of an adult male is. Why? Well, they want to compare it to their own size. Are they average, below average, or above average?? Men can’t help but wonder what the size of an average penis is.

The average penis size when flaccid is between 3 and 4 inches. This is inconclusive because many factors such as nerves and environment can effect the flaccid length.

The Alfred C. Kinsey Institute for sex research conducted a sampling of 60 men and found the following for erect penises:

4% are between 3.75″ and 4.75″

26% are between 5″ and 5.75″

47% of men are between 6″ and 6.5″ long

20% are between 6.75″ and 7.5″

3% are bigger than 8″

So, the average is about 6″. The average girth is about 4.84″.

Every study will be slightly different, but most report that 6″ is about the average penis size.

There is no conclusive evidence that has shown that penis length and race are connected in any way.

A mans height does not play a role in how big their penis is either. In a study of 300 men, the biggest flaccid length was 5.5″. The man was only 5′7″, and slim. The smallest in the study was 2.25″, and belonged to man that was 5′11″ and built.

Another factor to take in is that most mens penises are the same size when erect. The bigger flaccid penises only see a slight gain in size from flaccid to erect, but the man with the small flaccid penis sees a much bigger gain when becoming erect. Appearance of the flaccid length is not a good indicator of the erect size.
A study was conducted and published in BMC Women’s Health to see what matters more to women; length or girth? It turns out that women prefer a thicker penis as being more important when it comes to sexual stimulation.

This is because the most sensitive part of the vagina is closest to the outside of their body (within the first 4″ of vaginal canal).
